ROWAN FOODS CHALLENGE
Rowan Foods, Wrexham Industrial Estate have engaged in a challenge to assist St Christopher School Wrexham who need help to raise money for a new 17 seat mobility bus.
Based in Stockwell Grove, St. Christopher’s is the largest special needs school in Wales, accepting pupils of all abilities from Wrexham and beyond. The school has a fleet of 14 specially adapted minibuses which are used daily to take pupils to and from school and to visit a number of activities such as the Millennium Eco Centre, an annex about 4 miles from the main school. Most of the fleet was replaced 5 years ago after being damaged in a school fire. Insurance payments and fund raising at the time meant buying only second hand vehicles, most of which are now at the end of their useful life. A new minibus complete with wheelchair access costs over £40,000. Maxine Pittaway, the school’s Headteacher has sponsorship for a new bus provided that she can raise the first £10,000 by the end of August. If you would like to make a donation, however small, or have any fundraising ideas please feel free to contact Ryan West as follows;
