Knowlege Transfer Partnership Funding

KTP is a UK-wide programme that helps businesses/organisations to improve their competitiveness and/or productivity through the better use of the knowledge, technology & skills that reside within universities.

A KTP is a partnership between a company, university and a graduate. The graduate (KTP Associate) is employed by the university but spends the majority of their time working in the company on a specific project critical to the future success and growth of the business.

HOW MUCH WILL IT COST?
The cost for small to medium sized companies is £16,000 per year
The cost for large companies is £24,000 per year
Projects last between 1 and 3 years.

BENEFITS?
The Company will acquire new knowledge and expertise.
The Graduate (KTP Associate) will gain business based experience and personal and professional development opportunities
The University will enhance the business relevance of their research and teaching

WHAT KIND OF BUSINESS TAKES PART?
Businesses of all sizes in most industries and commercial sectors can take part. There are some limitations on the type of project and the sectors that can be supported. For more information about KTP contact us directly.

What type of projects are eligible? A few examples…..
• To ‘establish and implement a web marketing strategy, an integrated website / management information system for marketing, ordering, invoicing and stock control.’

• To ‘implement quality management systems and NPD methodology for product diversification, design optimum layout and product flow for a new production facility.’

• To ‘embed new product development methodology, which will integrate a quality operating system for new products, reduce material waste and capitalise on rotational moulding expertise.’

• to investigate, plan and deliver robust and scalable business processes and quality standards to further improve its position in the marketplace and to facilitate expansion.

• To investigate the role of biopolymers in confectionary in order to improve manufacturing efficiency.
