ST DAVID’S DAY CELEBRATIONS FOR EXCALIBUR AT WREXHAM !!

On 1st March 07, the Mayor of Wrexham, The Worshipful, Cllr George D James and the Mayoress, Mrs Victoria Barlow, will officially open the newly refurbished 260,000sqft “Excalibur” warehouse building on the Kingmoor Park Wrexham Estate, part of the 550 acre Wrexham Industrial Estate.

The event starts at 10.00am with the official opening scheduled for approximately 11.00am when the Mayor, and a representative of Russells Contractors, the company responsible for the refurbishment project, will drive through the main loading bay access which will be covered with a giant paper Excalibur logo. This will be followed by tours, helicopter trips over the site and lunch.

The helicopter tours will give guests the opportunity to see from the air details of two other development plots available of 6.6 acres (2.7ha) and a strategic tranche of land comprising of 90 acres (36.4ha) suitable for large scale warehouse and distribution development, subject to planning. Excalibur, meanwhile, comprises a single storey high bay steel frame warehouse of 231, 512sq ft together with single storey offices of 27, 140 sq ft. A feature of the site is the provision of 10Mva of electrical power.

The Mayor will be joined by over 50 invited guests including Welsh Development Agency representatives, Councillors, Developers, Agents and Press to celebrate the
Event. Brian Scowcroft, Chairman of Kingmoor Park Properties Ltd, owners of the site, comments:

“I am delighted to see the transformation of this building, which forms a major part of this strategic inward investment site. We bought this former Owens Corning glass fibre manufacturing plant back in 2004 when it was in quite a sad state and set about demolishing some of the eyesore buildings and internal remodelling to create a large, modern, open plan space. The resulting 260,000sqft building is an important addition to the area’s industrial offering and I am delighted to add that we are currently in negotiations with a major company to take the building over. However, we will continue marketing the site as we still have two chunks of industrial land for sale that I am sure given the land’s location on Wrexham Industrial Estate will be snapped up pretty quickly”.

David Newman of Matthews & Goodman, agents for the site said“The launch day is an excellent way of communicating and announcing the huge success and attractive proposition the site has to offer”.
